This plant comes in a 14cm plastic nursery pot.

Scientific name: Platycerium bifurcatum 'Netherlands'

These plants are named after their unusual looking fronds representing stag horns or elk horns. They have a compact growing habit, but can grow to become incredible structural pieces in your home. The Staghorn Fern is also an epiphytic plant which means they grow on other plants and rocks. You can mount them onto a wooden board and hang them against the wall as a unique living work of art in your home.

The lower (basal) fronds will be green in colour, but as they mature they turn brown. This is a natural occurrence and these fronds should not be removed.

n young staghorn ferns, the basal fronds will be green in color, but as the plant matures, they may become brown and appear wilted. This is natural and not a concern, and these brown fronds should not be removed from the plant. The basal fronds are essential for meeting the water requirements for staghorn ferns.
